I started blogging in 2010, always dreaming of having my own zine. Back in school, I worked on a lot of print media before shifting to digital, so I guess it’s no surprise I kept gravitating toward that Idea. But as print took a backseat to the internet, publishing a zine felt out of reach—blogging, on the other hand, was just a click away. My background in web design, combined with years of bedazzling MySpace pages and hacking top 8s into top 10s, gave me a solid foundation to build on. I spent years writing posts, experimenting with different storytelling styles, and refining my voice. The blog went through a few name changes, and while it never quite became a zine, at its core, it was everything I needed—a space to share my taste in music, art, design, and pop culture. Eventually, I stepped away to explore other forms of creativity and focus on a tech career that, for a while, consumed my life. Now, after a decade of distractions and endless scrolling, I’m here—in a tiny room in Tokyo—answering the call of creativity. Reclaiming my corner of the internet. Welcome to Discount Juice.
