The Sweet Sounds of September
I'm not a "I have to listen to music every moment of the day" kinda person, but I do like putting together playlists that capture where my head's at, my mood, and or what's happening in my life at the time. For a good stretch I had this thing with Shibuya. Something about that neighborhood always felt right for a Sunday stroll. I am always working on something during the week—client projects, personal stuff, whatever needs my focus, that's what I am locked in on. But Sunday? Yeah that's mine! My Sundays usually have a rhythm to them: coffee then a walk, no real itinerary. I pick a coffee place, go, and that's my beginning wandering point. Catch the train back home and then the rest of the day might be anime, might be reading, it might be absolutely nothing productive, but I'm ok with that. This is not a day to produce, it's a day to vibe and reset my brain.
The House Of Fox: Sundays in Shibuya is a jazz and soul mix meant for lounging, head empty, aimless walking with no real direction, just letting your foot decide the route each time it meets the pavement. It's made for the space between busy and chill. It's the kind of sound when you are moving through one of the world's most busiest intersections, but the world feels like it's only going at your pace. It's Sunday energy: unhurried, unworried, and filled with soul. It's just enough complexity to keep your body moving while your mind takes a day off.
It may be different for you—give it a spin, comment your favorite track below, and let us know what mood this evokes for you.
-Cheers
PS I have plans of making one of these a month and if all works out with some of my cool friends that DJ we might be able to do something even bigger than just a playlist :) Stay tuned
